A Minimalist, Tropical Rooftop Wedding at W Loft

Michael and Jesse’s wedding day was such a fun way to kick off the fall wedding season as a Brooklyn wedding coordinator. Their ceremony started off at the gorgeous Central Park Conservatory Gardens on the Upper East Side. If you’ve never been, it’s a hidden gem and it feels like an English garden. There are even this huge wrought iron gates you enter through, and it feels straight out of Bridgerton! Their “bubble boys”, as they were so lovingly called, paved the way for Jesse’s entrance, and the two said their “I do’s” in front of the beautiful Untermeyer Fountain.

After the ceremony, we walked around a bit for some portraits as guests started making their way over to Brooklyn for their cocktail hour and reception. The light was absolutely STUNNING, and Victoria did an incredible job capturing these two and their gorgeousness. Jesse’s grandmother handmade her wedding dress, and she looked absolutely radiant in it. I can’t get over how incredible the portraits of her on the steps are. Straight out of a magazine. We then walked over to the nearby pond, which was a sentimental location for Jesse and Michael. This area was where they shared their first kiss, and they fed ducks and people watched that day. As we were taking portraits, a little family of ducks swam up. It was such a full circle moment!

Before we knew it, we were out in Brooklyn at W Loft to start the party!

Jesse and Michael had a roast pig brought in, and it was hand carved to guests throughout cocktail hour. The sun really put on quite the show for them- it felt like golden hour lasted a few hours! As we stepped inside to the reception, it felt like an escape to a modern tropical getaway. I loved their minimal, but beautiful decor that Jesse sourced herself. Everything tied together so nicely, and their reception was a great example of DIY done right.

For dinner, Happy Bull Pizza came in and made fresh personal pizzas for every guest. They were SO good and such a crowd pleaser! I’m a big proponent of doing whatever is true to you and your partner, and trust me when I say guests were HYPED for these delicious pizzas. It was so fun having so many interactive elements to their dinner. Jesse and Michael danced the night away with their guests before heading off to their after party. This day was such a fun day to be a part of and I’m so glad I got to work with them. Congratulations Jesse and Michael!
