A Modern, Sophisticated Rooftop Wedding at The Skylark NYC

Steph and Luke’s Skylark NYC wedding was nothing short of a dream. I remember in one of our first meetings, they mentioned that they wanted their wedding to be full of sophisticated, New York City vibes. At the same time, they also wanted it to feel like the best night out on the town with all of their favorite people. Suffice to say, I think we were able to strike the perfect mix of sophistication and fun. The Skylark NYC is full of these rich blue and gold accents, so Steph opted for a light color palette with blush, white, and gold to balance the space. With a group of about 80 guests, they really wanted to make sure that the space felt intimate and inviting. The space lends itself to long banquet tables, which Happy Happenings Designs dressed up with lush florals and candles.

We started the day getting ready at The Skylark’s beautiful getting ready space with the beauty team. Steph and her girls all looked like super models! Once everyone was dolled up, we headed down to the trolley and off to the church. The church was a sentimental choice for Steph and Luke, as they used to live in this area. Their traditional Catholic ceremony was absolutely beautiful. After the “I do’s”, we headed outside with the wedding party to take some magazine worthy photos in the streets. Despite a little rain, we managed to move cocktail hour inside where guests could still admire the vast city views while being serenaded by Sterling Strings.

Once the rain subsided, we brought our newlyweds back up to the roof to get some sunset skyline portraits. As soon as the sun set, the reception transformed into NYC’s hottest dance club thanks to Blanc Noir Event Group. Everyone had such an incredible time dancing the night away and enjoying some late night snacks courtesy of Abigail Kirsch.

Everyone on the vendor team really brought their A game, and the entire day went off without a hitch. It was such an honor to be a part of Steph and Luke’s wedding day. I can’t wait to head back to The Skylark some day soon! Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Iaciofano!
