MK and Eliseo’s colorful eclectic wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse was such a perfect reflection of all the things I love about weddings. It was personal, intentional, authentic, and full of love. In addition to them being some of the coolest people, they also picked an all star vendor team- so I knew the day was going to be epic.
We started off their wedding day over at the 1 Hotel by the Brooklyn Bridge. MK’s squad donned handmade pajamas that corresponded to their bridesmaid dress, courtesy of MK’s mama. The moment you stepped into the room, you could tell the vibes were on point. MK is an artist, and she took on the hefty task of DIY’ing the majority of her wedding decor. First, we came across her gorgeous dried floral bouquets. I loved how full of color and personality they were! She also designed her wedding stationery, which perfectly complimented the fun, vibrant details of the day. Another colorful nod: MK’s wedding manicure. She incorporated all of her wedding colors into her nails, and added her and Eliseo’s star signs to her ring fingers. Such a sweet touch!
Before we knew it, it was time to get the two lovers down the aisle! Prior to the processional, we passed around bubbles to all the guests and special bubble guns to the aisle seats. After they said their vows, we pulled off the cutest bubble exit! It was the perfect touch for such a sweet couple.
Inside the boathouse, guests were greeted by vibrant colors throughout the table runners and dried flowers. Each seat had a dual menu/thank you card made out of seed paper, so that guests could plant their own wildflowers back home. I love this sustainable touch so much, especially since there can be so much waste at weddings.
Once everyone had eaten and toasted to the newlyweds, it was time to get down on the dance floor. It stayed PACKED all the way til the last second, thanks to DJ June! The love throughout the room was so palpable, and it was so sweet to get to witness so much pure joy in one place. It was an honor to celebrate this colorful couple. Congratulations MK and Eliseo!
