About the Day:

When Katelyn and Karsh came to me over a year ago to plan their 74 Wythe wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited. At the time, 74 Wythe was in the middle of construction- we even wore hard hats during the initial tour! Fast forward to 2022, and 74 Wythe is one of the most gorgeous rooftop venues in NYC. It was the perfect place to celebrate this sweet couple.

Katelyn and Karsh got ready at the William Vale hotel, which had gorgeous rooms and a short walk to the venue! Curled + Contoured came in and glammed up Katelyn and her squad, and they all looked absolutely radiant. Megan and Kenneth came by shortly after to start getting ready photos, and were incredible throughout the whole event.

Meanwhile over at 74 Wythe, Olivia Howard and her team were hard at work setting up the gorgeous floral arch for the ceremony. As a wedding planner, I have to be ready for any and all chaos that could happen. Thank goodness we had a dream vendor team since about halfway through the day, a SQUALL came out of nowhere and we had a full on blizzard for about 30 minutes! Kenneth was able to get the crew over to the venue just in the nick of time before the squall. Then, Katelyn and Karsh were able to safely have their first look on the enclosed rooftop. If you look closely, you can see the snow out the window.

Thankfully the snow subsided and the sun came out just in time for the ceremony. It was so nice having a venue with an enclosed roof so we didn’t have to worry about the weather. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the two became Mr and Mrs Anil during golden hour. Everyone was whisked downstairs for cocktail hour while myself and the vendor team got to work on executing the flip (you can check out the flip on my Instagram here!) Team work makes the dream work.

Every bit of Katelyn and Karsh’s wedding reception was so thoughtfully crafted. We opted for a mauve, blush, cream color palette to keep things romantic and intimate. Olivia and her team lit up the room with hundreds of candles and we added string lights to the ceiling to give a warm glow to the roof. Their sweet dog, Toby, was at daycare for the day, but his presence was DEFINITELY felt throughout the day. We had Toby wax seal place cards, Toby cocktail napkins, the “Tipsy Toby” signature cocktail, a Toby cake topper, and, the piece de resistance, a cardboard cutout of Toby for guests to take pictures with throughout the night.

Katelyn and Karsh also wanted to really take care of their guests and give them a good time. They had an epic photo booth set up with Flux Photo Booth, along with 2 different guest books! One was a vintage phone where you could record audio messages, and the other was a Polaroid guest book. Karsh and his friends really love cigars, so Katelyn even set up a cigar bar for him on the courtyard! To tie it all together, they gave personalized match boxes as favors. Everyone danced the night away with lots of Taylor Swift! We wrapped up the night with an after party downstairs at J Bird and some late night pizza from Joe’s. The perfect night for these two lovers.
