When it came to planning Clarissa and Tyler’s wedding day, they told me a few key points. They wanted a GREAT party with an intimate group in a place that felt like New York. After searching for the perfect venue, we landed at The Skylark NYC, one of my favorite spots in Manhattan. The art deco lounge overlooks Times Square. It also has incredible views from the rooftop of the Empire State Building and the rest of Midtown.
The two valued a classic, yet refined and modern aesthetic. We decided to showcase this through a timeless black and white color palette. We let the city skyline do its thing and had ambient candlelight and white flowers accentuate an already gorgeous setting. The Skylark is a unique venue in that it is almost L shaped on the interior. We had one head table for Clarissa, Tyler, and their wedding party to gather with rounds of their favorite people surrounding them.
It was important to Tyler and Clarissa that guest experience was both seamless and thoughtful.
To find their seat, Clarissa gathered photos of every guest and had a polaroid wall where guests found their face to find their seat. It was such a sweet moment that everyone loved! After a delicious dinner from the Abigail Kirsch team, everyone hit the dance floor with DJ Allison Kinney. As a special surprise from Clarissa to Tyler, we were able to sneak in our favorite saxophonist, Michael McGarrill, to serenade everyone for the last couple hours. Tyler, like everyone else, was shocked and delighted and had the best time jamming out with Michael!
At the end of the day, we had such a blast celebrating Clarissa and Tyler. They are two of the most beautiful people inside and out, and I’m so honored to have been a part of this journey. Congratulations you two!
